1996년에 업무를 시작한 광주교육대학교 시민교육대학은 대학과 지역 사회와의 연결을 도모하고자 하는 대학의 강한 의지를 반영하고 있다. 시민교육대학은 지역 주민들에게 최신 지식을 전달하고 새로운 교육과 문화의 경향들을 소개하는 중요한 역할을 함과 동시에 다양한 배움의 경험들을 할 수 있도록 소중한 기회들을 제공하고 있다. 요가, 댄스, 플루트, 공예, 명상 등을 포함하여 다양한 종류의 수업들이 매 학기 열리고 있고 주민들의 지속적인 관심을 받고 있다.

Civic Education College, established in 1996, reflects our firm commitment to bridge the University and the local community. The College provides nontrivial opportunities for members of the community to enjoy a great variety of learning experiences, playing a pivotal role in distributing up-to-date knowledge and introducing new educational and cultural trends to locals. A wide range of courses are offered every semester including, for instance, those teaching yoga, dance, flute, handicrafts, meditation, and so forth.
